Staff bucket list: Lindsay picks adventure and family tours

We at BikeTours.com have the incredible job of talking about bike tours all day, every day. And we think you might be interested to know what we'd pick, if we're picking (and we do often get to!). Read the staff bucket list profile below, and see if you have any of the same interests or bucket list tours! Read all the staff bike tour bucket lists

Meet LindsayLindsay BikeToursDirect

Lindsay is a native Chattanoogan who came to BikeTours.com in the summer of 2012 after four years of living in South Korea. She caught the travel bug early in life, thanks to a fearless grandmother who wasn't afraid of flying and adamant about taking each grandchild to a far-flung destination. During university, she studied abroad in the South of France and become an obsessed Francophile, also backpacking through Europe solo to visit the new friends she made in language classes in Cannes.

But it was when she first traveled to Asia that she really fell in love -- so much so that she's still there, now just outside of Daegu, South Korea, home to BikeTours.com's Asia satellite office. It's just a short hop, skip and jump away from many of her favorite places: Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, India, the Philippines, China and Japan.

She spends her free time eating kimchi and running and biking the rice paddies and abundant mountain trails in her backyard. Her family (husband, 4-year-old son and infant daughter) loves to take adventurous vacations that include cycling, marathon runs, camping, or just hopping around Asia.
Likes

More adventurous travel destinations (squatty potties and strange food? Sign me up!), leisurely-level tours (I want to be active, but at the same time feel like I'm on vacation), and unique cultures.
Dislikes

Boat cruises (I need space to roam) and crowded "spring-breaky" type places.
Adores

Friendly locals, active vacations (I once traveled to Ireland just to run a marathon), off-the-map locations where wi-fi is rare, and wine.
Traveler Type

FAB (family avec babies) + Adventure Seeker (mild)

Bucket List

1.  Provence Family Tour

Who says you can't bring the kids with you to France? The adults will sip wine and the children can run amok in the vineyards as we slowly cycle this route chosen with families in mind.

2. Iceland's Fertile South

Iceland is THE ultimate travel destination in well-traveled circles these days, and I want to join this trend! Awe-inpiring landscapes, glacier-fed waterfalls, and pristine nature is beckoning me hard.

3. Danube Family Tour

Danube

If there is one family tour that is above all others on our site in regard to flexibility, amazing feedback, and perfect options for kids, it's the Danube Family Tour. This operator has got it down pat--from family-friendly hotels (even one night at a farm where the kids can pet and feed the animals) to the perfect stops along the way in towns with lots of activities for kids, this is the perfect "kid-friendly" tour. I want to go on this tour with my kids, and invite my parents, sisters, and their families and children as well. It just won't disappoint.

4. Split to Dalmatian Islands

Croatia--it's the new hot destination in Europe. I love the beach, so I'd love to spend these 6 days island hopping along Croatia's coast. This tour is designed for optional daily distances, which is great if you're coming with kids.

5. Wine and Bike in Hungary's Balaton Uplands

Honestly, this family-owned local tour operator seems just so gosh darn warm and hospitable, I just want to join whatever tour they are leading! Plus, they like to sell this tour by describing it as "great cycling, great food, great wines." Sign me up!
