The 1,000-MPG cross-country e-bike tour

Boris Mordkovich and Anna Mostovetsky have spent the last 75 days traveling across the entire United States  by e-bike -- from New York City to San Francisco -- and reached their final destination today! Their Trans-American Electric Bike Tour has cut a 4,000-mile path from coast to coast, building awareness of e-bikes, demonstrating their reliability and practicality, and exchanging best practices with other e-cyclists.

"We want more people to find out about electric bikes and see them in action and we figured that what better way to this then by demonstrating ourselves," Boris says. Their journey has included stops in about 25 cities for talks and presentations about e-bikes. They've averaged 1,000 MPG (compared to 20-30 MPG for most cars!) on the trans-continental trek.

We've been following their blog for the last couple of months to see their progress, and the Trans-American Electric Bike Tour website has some great resources, including an FAQ page to help you determine if an e-bike tour is right for you. Congratulations on a successful trip, Boris and Anna!
