BikeTours.com in the news

We love it when BikeTours.com gets a nod of appreciation! Check out some recent mentions from around the web.

A perfect adventure, even for “scaredy cats”

While most of our tours are suitable for those looking for relaxed riding, with many on flat terrain or dedicated bike paths, some are especially leisurely.

TravelChannel.com recently featured one such tour in their list of “12 Adventure Trips for Scaredy Cats,” for when you “want to be brave and go on an adventure trip, but you’re not quite ready to jump out of a plane.”

Check out their full list here, which includes the Connemara Lazy Days Cycling tour, a great choice for those who aren’t quite into all-day cabana lounging, but also like a little built-in leisure and a slower pace in their vacations.

“Best Family Bike Tours in Europe”

(from August 1, 2018)

Considering a family bike tour in Europe?

BikeTours.com has great family-friendly bike tour options, and TripSavvy.com agrees:

“If you’ve been fantasizing about your family exploring Europe on two wheels, there are plenty of great bike tour companies offering options for different budgets, interests, fitness levels, and children’s ages.”

The site recently featured our family-friendly tour options on their list of “Best Family Bike Tours in Europe,” like the “solid kid-friendly” Danube Family tour, which include short daily distances, a two-night stay at a hotel with a pool and spa, and fun ride on Vienna’s Prater Ferris Wheel.

Danube Bike Path: Beautiful bike destination for your bucket list

(from July 18, 2018)

Self.com recently put together a list of “12 Beautiful Biking Destinations You’ll Want to Add to Your Bucket List,” featuring a dozen must-see cycling locales and the intrepid adventurers who have experienced the spots firsthand.

And since Danube Bike Path in Austria made the cut, BikeTours.com travel ambassador Jackie Nourse was the perfect choice to share her experience on her first solo bike tour down the Danube. Here’s part of her review:

“The route is mostly flat, as it follows the Danube River, so I chose a hybrid touring bike (and ended up with some calves of steel), but electric bikes (e-bikes) are also available. [A touring bike is a bike made specifically for bike tours that’s usually extra comfortable, and a hybrid bike is a blend of a road bike and a mountain bike that can usually tolerate a wider range of conditions—so a hybrid touring bike is all of those things.] I couldn’t have imagined just how enlightening this experience would be, and I highly recommend it to anyone from solo travelers to families. Cycling is a fabulous way to slow travel through beautiful, delicious Austria.”

Take an “epic” tour of the West Balkan Triangle

(from June 6, 2018)

“To the uninitiated, cycling vast distances across a country might sound like a torturous idea. But anyone who’s hopped on the back of a bike and pedaled their way around a new destination will likely tell you there are few better ways to take in the sights.”

So says FarandWide.com (and we agree!). They recently featured our Cycling the West Balkan Tour on their list of  “Most Epic Bike Rides Across Europe.”

And why not? The seven-night tour is full of Mediterranean beauty and cycles you through three stunning countries: Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina. Explore charming villages, medieval towns, and picturesque landscapes on this “epic” tour.
